aka maps

The map that calls places what you call them.

“Grandma's.” “The good taco place.” “Where we park for the game.” aka maps is an offline map for your household: rename places the way you actually say them, share those names with your people, and get turn-by-turn directions without a signal.

Privacy

Your searches, routes and names stay on your phone. If you join a household or circle, its names travel between the phones in it as encrypted blobs through our relay; the relay stores what it cannot read and keeps no access log. When the map streams an area you haven't downloaded, our file host (Cloudflare) serves the tiles you're looking at; we keep no access log and there is no account. Once a day the app tells our server it was opened; that message carries nothing else, and we keep only the daily total. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors; places from Overture Maps; addresses from OpenAddresses.
